New Gear Alert: UAD Software v9.10, TB12 Tone Beast Black from Warm Audio, CEntrance’s MicPort Pro 2 & More

Universal Audio introduces UAD Software v9.10, featuring the 175B & 176 Tube Compressor Collection.

With the release of UAD Software v9.10, Universal Audio offers exacting emulations of founder Bill Putnam Sr.’s classic 175B & 176 tube limiters.

UAD Software v9.10 features the 175B & 176 Tube Compressor Collection, a detailed plugin emulation of UA founder, Bill Putnam Sr.’s iconic, ultra-rare tube limiters.

With roughly only 1,000 units made, vintage 175B and 176s easily command well over $5,000 on the vintage market today, and have been used on thousands of seminal recordings—from the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and Van Halen to Aretha Franklin and Miles Davis. Now, you can track and mix with the only authentic plugin emulation of the original UA 175B and 176 compressors—exclusively for UAD hardware and UA audio interfaces.

Features exclusive to these new emulations include a sidechain link, dry/wet mix parallel processing, and headroom for user-customizable operating level. Also included are artist presets from Jacquire King, Carl Glanville, Joe Chiccarelli, and more.

The 175B & 176 Tube Compressor Collection is priced at $299; to download UAD Software v9.10, click here.

Add bold color, character, and umph to your signal with Warm Audio’s TB12 Tone Beast Black mic preamp.

The TB12 Tone Beast Black is a fully-professional preamp design with loads of gain that can capture an array of sources very well. It is a swiss army knife full of options and tones. With CineMag transformers and multiple discrete signal paths, the Tone Beast offers a big, bold, fully-professional sound at an attractive price point.

The Tone Beast Black is a mic pre that likes to be pushed, and when pushed it will colorize your signal noticeably. The 2 opamps and 2 output transformers at the flip of their switches won’t appear to be much different, but as one drives the pre into harmonic distortion, the unique character of each of these components becomes apparent.

The Tone Beast Black is also customizable and allows you to source and swap in your own opamps. The output control on the TB12 allows you to limit the signal exiting the preamp even when pushing the gain to high levels, giving you maximum control.

The TB12 Tone Beast Black will be available in stores September 1st, 2019, priced at $599.

Introducing DJUCED, an AI DJ assistant.

Need a hand with your DJ set list? DJUCED is here to help.

When designing this AI assistant, the development team at DJUCED went to DJs asking for permission to analyze their music libraries to crunch the song choosing data. Gauging the liveliness of the audience with the Energy Feature, DJUCED can suggest songs not only through BPM matching but also through the style and genre. With the direction of the DJ, the AI assistant will scan through queued folders of music to pick the best songs for the set.

DJUCED is compatible with a wide variety of controllers. Whether somebody is a beginner DJ or an experienced one, DJUCED can make the beat dropping process more efficient.
