Quad Unveils Studio E

Last week, Quad Recording Studios took the wraps off their new Studio E in a suave affair. Studio E, designed by Larry Swist and outfitted with an extremely accurate and musical 2.1 Guzuaski-Swist Studio Monitor System, was revealed to be a very sharp addition to NYC’s studio offerings.

“I wanted to stay with the small-room concept, but have it pack a big room punch,” notes Ricky Hosn, President of Quad. “What we did was build a room around an SSL AWS  900. That gives the client the option of doing a real mix, at a small-room rate. The ISO rooms are big enough to track a band and the control room is designed with the producer and engineer in mind — the back of the room has a producer desk that wraps around the room connecting with the SSL in the front. That puts the engineer in the center of the room and the producer on a platform in the back.

“The monitors are custom-designed by Larry Swist and Mick Guzauski just for the room. Let’s just say the system comes with a 22″ sub!! This room is designed to be the Swiss Army knife of all recording rooms.” – David Weiss
