Rain Launches LiveBook A2 Quad-Core Mobile Audio Workstation

Rain Computers (Ringwood, NJ) has released the follow-up to their LiveBook Mobile Audio Workstation line with the new LiveBook A2.

Powered by Intel’s “Sandy Bridge” Core i7 quad-core mobile processors, and starting at $1,599, the LiveBook A2 (A for audio, 2 for second generation) boasts an array of new features including quad-core processing, discrete graphics and the choice of a glossy or matte high resolution 15.6 inch screen.

The new LiveBook A2 has been designed by Rain “to guarantee the performance and stability audio pros and DJs demand during once-in-a-lifetime recording sessions, live shows and other situations where failure is not an option.”

This system incorporates a quad-core processor up to 2.5GHz, the option to add 16 GB of memory, the NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M graphics processor that can be switched off to save battery power, and a bevy of high speed ports including USB 3.0 and eSATA.

Like all Rain computers, LiveBook A2 is tested and certified for use with creative software like Pro Tools for audio production, Serato for DJs and the Adobe Master Collection for everything else. And “RainCare Encompass Creative Computer Support” is included with every Rain computer – that covers the “grey area” between the computer, and audio software and hardware. This in an effort to help users avoid the vicious circle of tech support calls common when using gear from many different manufacturers.

The new LiveBook A2 is available directly from the Rain Custom Shop and will soon be available at Rain Authorized Dealers like AMS, Amazon.com, Guitar Center and Best Buy.
