The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, We Were Lovers At Stratosphere

Stratosphere Sound’s been hosting non-stop tracking and mixing sessions in its Neve 8068-equipped Studio A, including Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation, who recorded and mixed two songs with Stratosphere chief engineer Geoff Sanoff, and NYC’s The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, who tracked an upcoming single with British producer/engineer James Brown.

In other recent sessions at Stratosphere, producer/engineer Chris Coady worked with Canadian pop-rock band, We Were Lovers, UK rockers Lunar Youth recorded with producer/engineer Brandon Mason, and, British rapper Mickey Hollywood tracked vocals with engineer Rudyard Lee Cullers.

This past year, Stratosphere has also hosted a variety of film soundtrack, comedy and music video sessions. James Iha scored the soundtrack to Japanese indie film, Kakera: A Piece of Our Life, Stephen Colbert’s Grammy Award winning Best Comedy Album was co-written and co-produced by Adam Schlesinger and engineered by Geoff Sanoff in Studio A, and Argentinean composer and filmmaker Maximiliano Gerscovich recorded with Rudyard Lee Cullers, and filmed a music video, “Stingin’ Tears.”
