Awesome Event Alert: On Thursday, April 7, the SCL in NY (Society of Composers & Lyricists), Alto Music NYC and SonicScoop will present an evening event featuring top NYC-based composer Peter Nashel (Rubicon, Lie to Me). Details below!

Hosted by Good Penny and Sugarbox Studios, Music Technology for The Working Composer will provide a great opportunity to find out about the latest sample libraries and game-changing music software, learn tips and tricks that can improve your workflow, and hear about the real world, practical experiences of a busy TV/film composer.

In a combo presentation and discussion moderated by composer and SCL in NY Steering Committee member Joel Douek, Nashel will take the audience inside his process, highlighting choice technologies and describing his workflow and approach on recent projects.

Shane Koss, Alto Music NYC’s resident technologist and system designer/integrator, will be on hand to discuss the very latest in technology for composers. The group will cover such topics as MIDI over LAN, Vienna Ensemble Pro and other hosts, working with multiple bridged CPU’s, scripting and sample library advances, plug-ins and physical modeling, advances input devices, non-music workflow approaches and technologies for communication, presentation and interaction, and more.

There will also be a brief update on the status of digital royalty negotiations and plenty opportunity to mix and mingle, meet other composers and talk tech.
