Waves Launches MultiRack Version 9.5 – Now Runs Waves Signature Series Plugins

Being a live sound rat is officially the coolest gig going.

MultiRack 9.5 runs on MultiRack Native or SoundGrid.

MultiRack 9.5 runs on MultiRack Native or SoundGrid.

That’s because Waves Audio has just launched MultiRack Version 9.5, the latest edition of its live sound plugin host.

Live sound engineers – and maybe those who have been thinking about trying their hand at – will be psyched to discover that MultiRack 9.5 can run Waves Signature Series plugins, designed by Chris Lord-Alge, Tony Maserati, Jack Joseph Puig, Eddie Kramer and Manny Marroquin, on any MultiRack Native or SoundGrid system.

Other notable features of MultiRack 9.5 for enhancing the user experience and workflow include an improved, streamlined graphic interface; the capability to record to two computers simultaneously; and 1000 snapshot support for DiGiCo consoles.

MultiRack Native lets FOH and Monitor engineers run multiple simultaneous instances of Native Waves plugins live on their console.

Meanwhile, the MultiRack SoundGrid application is ideal for live sound, broadcast, post production facilities, and more. According to Waves, SoundGrid provides an extremely low latency environment for high precision Waves audio processing. Together with a SoundGrid DSP Server, SoundGrid-compatible Waves plugins, a Mac or PC control computer, and an I/O, MultiRack SoundGrid allows users to run a multitude of Waves reverbs, equalizers, compressors, mix tools, and more. As of press time, the Manny Marroquin Signature Series and Eddie Kramer Guitar Channel plugins were not yet SoundGrid-compatible.
