Chris Zane (The Walkmen, Passion Pit, Les Savy Fav) produced/engineered and mixed the record at Gigantic Studios in Tribeca.

The band, whose atmospheric indie rock has been capturing fans of shoegaze, indie and noise-pop since their ’04 debut, made their last two records — ’06’s Citrus and ’09’s Hush — with Zane as well. This time out, they went into the studio with an admirable plan, as guitarist/singer James Hanna puts it, “This time, our agenda was to not have one at all; to be mellow about the entire process instead of obsessing over everything.”

Looking forward to hearing “Fluorescence” in full! The album is available for pre-order now on the Polyvinyl website.

Asobi Seksu also announced their upcoming North American tour, including two NYC dates — January 27 at Highline Ballroom and February 17 album release show at Mercury Lounge. Keep up with them at http://www.asobiseksu.com.
