New Gear Alert: Steinberg’s Nuendo 10, ATOM Producer Lab by PreSonus, Mixed In Key Studio Edition & More

Steinberg launches Nuendo 10.

Steinberg furthers Nuendo with version 10, offering a wealth of new features for sound designers, audio post engineers, and more.

Nuendo 10 combines premium audio quality with a sheer endless number of advanced editing tools, intelligent workflow enhancements, and exciting new features.

To expedite post-production workflow, Nuendo 10 now includes Video Cut Detection for analyzing videos for edits and setting markers automatically. Field Recorder Audio Import allows you to search field recorder audio files and match these with a project’s events using available attributes or metadata.

Nuendo 10 also offers powerful creative tools designed specifically for sound designers. Included is a brand-new Doppler effect that virtually simulates the changing perception of a sound as its source passes. Among many other new and redesigned plugins, the VoiceDesigner is the ideal tool for modifying voices, with parameters such as Detune, Formant, Preserve (for pitch shifting while preserving formants), Robot, Morph, and FX.

With Nuendo 10, productivity is now even more efficient, allowing ADM files to be directly imported into a new or existing project. New video rendering capabilities, Cue Sheet Export, and ARA support will also be introduced in a later update.

Nuendo 10 will be available in Q2 2019, with a suggested retail price of $999.99 for the boxed version, which includes the required dongle. Customers who have activated Nuendo 8 or previous versions since March 13, 2019 are eligible for a free, downloadable Grace Period update to Nuendo 10 as soon as it is available.

Subject Sound announces Delay Masterclass: an online course with a refreshing approach towards Delays.

Subject Sound offers a fresh take on the use of delays with their new Delay Masterclass.

Delays have been an important part of audio production and mixing ever since it was invented, more than 60 years ago—which is a pretty rare thing in this consumer-driven digital audio space, where a new plugin seems to see the light of day almost every week. The reason for its long standing career? Versatility.

When you dive deep into the inner workings of “classic” effect processors, you’ll find that most of them are based on a delay in one form or another. This means that the opposite is also true; with delays, we can re-create a whole bunch of effects, Reverbs, Flangers, Chorusses, and even comb-filters.

That is the essence of the course: Making sure your old familiar delay plugins become your new favorite tool. To showcase this, the videos demonstrate a combination of techniques using Echoboy by Soundtoys, and Fabfilter’s Timeless 2 plugin.

Subject Sound is currently running a launch sale; if you use the coupon code “MAYSALE” during checkout, you get a 20% discount.
