New Gear Alert: SP2016 Reverb Plugin from Eventide, Fusion Outboard Processor by SSL, Avid Expands VENUE S6L & More
Eventide announces the new SP2016 Reverb plugin.
The new SP2016 Reverb faithfully recreates a classic collection of reverb algorithms from Eventide’s history-making SP2016, pro audio’s first rackmount multi-effects processor.
The SP2016 Reverb features 3 distinct room types, each available in two versions: Vintage and Modern. The Modern algorithms are brighter, more diffuse, and use higher bit resolution. The unique Position control allows you to take your listeners from the back of the room all the way to the stage while retaining all of your other settings.
Control the structure of the reverb by fine-tuning the controls—including Pre Delay, Decay, Position, and Diffusion. The EQ section allows for simple high and low filtering of the reverb with adjustable filter ranges. The low filter can be used to cut or boost at the specified frequency.
The SP2016 Reverb is available as an AAX/AU/VST plugin for Mac and PC, at an introductory price or $79 through October 31, 2018 (reg. $249). Owners of Eventide’s 2016 Stereo Room or Anthology XI can cross-grade for $29 during the promotional period.
Solid State Logic launches Fusion.
Fusion is an all-analog, 2U outboard processor created for the modern hybrid studio. It introduces 5 completely new analog coloration tools designed to bring the perfect combination of added tonal character, weight, and space to your mix bus or stereo stems. It offers the detail, warmth, and finesse that only real analog circuits can provide.
The 5 analog processors in Fusion can be used discretely or combined; they include a Vintage Drive, Violet EQ, High Frequency Compressor, and Stereo Image enhancer.
A switched, custom-designed SSL transformer circuit introduces subtle low-frequency saturation, alongside a high-frequency phase shift. The result is a simultaneous thickening of the low-end and an added sparkle to the high-end.
Fusion is priced at $2,495.

Sennheiser and Neumann launch a special wireless bundle promotion.
Sennheiser and Neumann have unveiled a promotional bundle that combines a Sennheiser evolution wireless 500 G4 microphone system with the Neumann KK 205 true condenser capsule. This special edition vocal set makes the acclaimed Neumann sound available to a much wider audience. As until now, Neumann microphone heads had been reserved only for Sennheiser’s 2000, 6000 and 9000 wireless series.
Based on Neumann’s award winning series of wired KMS stage microphones, the KK 205 true condenser microphone head features exceptional clarity and the characteristic Neumann sound. The super-cardioid capsule delivers an immediate, emotional vocal sound with airy trebles and fast transient response. The KK 205 can take sound pressure levels of up to 150dB without clipping, ensures high gain before feedback, and offers good lateral isolation towards other on-stage sound sources.
The new 500 G4 wireless microphone system offers up to 50mW of transmission power and a switching bandwidth of 88MHz, which gives engineers sufficient room to maneuver in the busy RF spectrum. The system is available in all standard UHF frequency ranges and comes complete with the handheld transmitter, capsule, rackmount receiver, rackmount kit, microphone clip and power supply.
The promotional bundle is available for €1,600 from October 1st to December 31st, 2018.
